Boost Your Local Endeavor with Social Media.

Let's say that you have a local endeavor.  There are a couple rules for what kinds of projects we are willing to work on.  There are a few fair regulations:
  • Small Endeavor Booster.  Must be a locally owned and operated business.  In other words, Starbucks and Walmart need not apply, whereas Willoughby's or something similar is acceptable.  This is for local businesses only; no unwieldy chains or corporations, please.
  • Share and share alike.  You can use the materials for your own volition, to promote your business on your own channels as well.  Blog posts are automatically tweeted by @nhvorg which has over 400 authentic local followers, and only follows verified local people.
  • In it to win it (for everyone).  Videos are produced by StereoMedia, our in-house video production company.  Stereomedia pairs up local artists with local businesses such as yours to get them work and to bring you more business.
Nhv.Org received over 1500+ views this week.  99% of our viewers are in the United States, most likely in the downtown New Haven area, due to the fact that we don't conventionally "search engine optimize" and only employ the use of social media, word of mouth and sidewalk chalk to spread awareness of our existence.

And it's working great!

People come to this site, looking for new and interesting information online that they would otherwise not know about.  We want to make New Haven look cool and interesting to the outside world, and our Business Booster program is no exception.  All organic traffic!

We use high-powered photo/video equipment and software.

Computer Tutors

Computer tutors are available at The Grove on 760 Orange Street.  We are the Nhv staff team and we produce Nhv.Org - we can teach you how to produce your own network, site, or blog using all free stuff on the internet, just as we've done with this one.

Rates are adjusted based on skill level and income.  If you can't afford to pay, your lessons will be afforded by people who are willing to pay more in order to help folks like yourself.  But you must be willing to participate in our Bonus Awards program.

Bonus Awards are essentially that program by which we are able to produce high-quality awesome stuff and learn things all at the same time.  You should participate in this!

This program continues to evolve.  But stay tuned and there will be more refinement and announcements on how to be a part of this program.

Schedule an Appointment.

Social Media Videos

Nhv.Org works with the Local Scene and with Outpost to produce high-quality social media videos for your organization or business.  We currently work with a skilled team of videographers and editors to produce the best video to share your ideas.  All of us are locally based and easily accessible, and we also offer you the exposure available through this site.

For more information regarding the local music scene, view here.
For our administrative arts league, the Outpost Collective, try this.

Photographers Welcome!

Attention Photographers.  Here's a great new way to share your photos.

  • Post a photo to the website
  • Write a photojournalistic essay
  • Enter your photos to the New Haven Museum database for historical preservation
  • Make a Desktop Background Archive for sharing purposes
  • Monetize your photos for local sales
That's a bunch of options.

You can even add captions.

Picture this.  If you take photos all the time, and some of them are meant for just you or your family, don't share them on Nhv.Org!  But if you take a picture where the light is hitting a building perfectly, and then you have 4 or 5 of these, why not make a collection and share them with everyone?

Not everyone makes a quadrillion bucks selling photographs for a living.  Many of us now in the 21st century can take a high-resolution photograph with the same device we take our phone calls.  That's pretty spectacular.  And so I'm asking, what are we to do with all this freedom?

I say share it.  Forget about making a buck off it.  Because maybe someone will see that photo, and feel kind of good about seeing it, and want others to see it.  Isn't it worth other people's happiness?  Would you deprive the world of the happiness of seeing a wonderful photo, just because you're not going to make a buck?

The world could be more valuable, if we learn how to share in the positive experiences.  Maybe we can make the world a better place.  Certainly there are many ways to try.  Here are a few.

Participation Form

Do you wish that your life could be documented?  Have you experienced something that you feel compelled to share?  Nhv.Org would like to help you with that.  Our professional film crew is waiting for you, so that you can tell your story.

Tentative plans have been made to present the full film in a showing at a local theater probably in the Fall.

Privacy Policy

If you're featured in a #NHV video, we take down your email address and signature. We release the video privately to you, first, to see if you approve.  Once you approve, we release the video to the rest of the #community.  How does that sound?  If you're real excited about being on the show, or have a great idea for it, just fill out this form and someone will send you an email within a day or two.

We'd like to hear from you!

All you need is a Google account.  Follow the instructions and you can have access to post events directly, without an intermediary!  Tutorial and technical support is available to help you if you have trouble.

Here is an example of a complete calendar post.  It contains the Host and Event name in the title (in that order).  The date and time is correct.  The actual physical address is listed in "where."  This one is someone's own description.  It's preferable to copy from the press release.
