The Streets Had Eyes: Civilian Policing in Hartford's North End (Part 1 of 2)

New Haven likes to talk about community policing, but Cornell Lewis, a Hartford-based activist, once took that concept to the grassroots level. It was called the Men of Color Initiative, and it confronted the presence of of two drug gangs in Hartford's North End. Lewis sat down with The New Haven Beat several months ago to talk about the civilian-led effort. Check out Part 1 of that story here.
