Intoxicated Man Subdued Without Incident in New Haven

In the wake of what we see among many police departments across the country, citizens are getting shot dead by police. Whether it's Freddy in Baltimore, or that guy in Charleston selling guns from the trunk of his car, people are getting killed, and then others with cellphones are recording it. The results are not pretty, and neither is this. But let's put it in context.

Without incident, this man (who by anyone's estimation effectively charged the officer) was handled and did not seriously injure himself (though that's questionable) nor others. This serves as a stark reminder that our urban environment is still full of the unexpected, and life certainly isn't perfect here in the greatest city in America. At least we have officers who don't unleash lethal force upon citizens who are not necessarily innocent in their demeanor but not an imminent threat, either.
