It might be too late for The Anchor, but the author of a petition against its closing is hoping to use this as a launch point to organize around preserving the local character he feels places like it represented. Meanwhile, patrons of the restaurant/bar are still fundraising for the laid off employees. More in our updated coverage of the story.

The New Haven Zoning Authority also recently had some fun, contemplating other changes around the landscape. There is, in fact, a very good chance though that the Anchor will stay put.
