Today, at 2:30, New Haven Works, located at 205 Whitney Avenue, held an opening announcing the program's arrival. Three successful cases of New Haven residents looking for reliable employment gave speeches at the event. Each was a unique example of how the program works (see video).This doesn't seem to be an ordinary job recruitment center, however.
The mayor spoke: "We're a place that builds housing and finds a spot for everybody. We're not just for some people. We're for everybody. So we look a lot different from one another, we talk differently. We come to our lives with different skills with different possibilities and different challenges."
