City Gallery in
New Haven presents ABSTRACT/ DISTRACT, a group show featuring abstract interpretations
by artists Judy Atlas,

Reception and Artists’ Talk on Saturday, January 12, from 3:00 - 5:00pm at 994 State Street

“It’s an increasingly perplexing and unbalanced world,” says Roberta Friedman. “As artists, we strive to circumvent
the daily distractions and reflect on our feelings and reactions to what is happening
around us.”
ABSTRACT/ DISTRACT offers the viewer a collection of more than 20 paintings, encaustics, sculptures,
and photography that reflect individually and collectively the artists’ interpretations
of the world. “Our exhibit
is meant to be viewed deliberately, asking the viewer to consider our current predicament
and how we restore thoughtfulness to our daily lives.”
The show and events are free and open to the public. City Gallery
is located at 994 State Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Gallery hours are Friday -
Sunday, 12 noon - 4pm. For further information please contact City Gallery, info@city-gallery.org,
