When activists took the streets a couple of months ago to protest the Mike Brown and Eric Garner verdicts, they said that a restructured civilian review board would be a top priority going forward. Last night city residents packed a Board of Alders Joint Committee meeting to propose-among other things-a body that can conduct independent investigations and subpoena.
