Durham Demolition Derby

Outside of New Haven, not that far down i-91 (exit 15 to be exact) it gets so rural that you can expect to see a true American spectacle: an old school demolition derby.
The real trick to winning one of these is to put the car in reverse and not damage the front end, where most of the engine is located, inflicting most of the damage onto other vehicles with the tail end. Once your radiator
is busted, it's literally a matter of
seconds before the car is completely disabled. An old stationwagon won this event.

Fairly back-country for
CT, the fair is a mainstay in local culture but the DD was added
to the fair only a couple years ago, after the popularity and success of a similar event in Hebron.
